The hardest part isn't the new code — it's not breaking the old one.
NitroTickets sells tickets for combat-sports events — MMA, boxing, BJJ — and has done since 2008. I was the primary developer who led its rebuild through Oct 2026, from that original CodeIgniter codebase into modern Laravel, working alongside a small team, on the same production database the whole time.
Before
The platform had run on an aging CodeIgniter codebase for over fifteen years, carrying real, live production data that had to keep working through the modernization, not be replaced alongside it.

Event listings and seating charts, cart and checkout, ticket PDF and barcode/QR generation, a full promoter and staff admin, fighter-referral tracking, and add-on sales.
My role
Primary developer on the Laravel 13 rewrite through Oct 2026 — and part of the original CodeIgniter-era build in 2018–19. I led the rebuild alongside a small team.
